Overview
I designed an intuitive interface that made it easy for students to navigate, access study materials, track their progress, and get personalized content. Through user research and feedback, I continuously refined the app's design to enhance usability and engagement, earning positive recognition from over 50 student-athletes during the beta phase.
Momentvm was a USC-funded startup under the Techstars accelerator — my first full UI/UX design project and case study. The platform's mission was to support collegiate athletes by providing an online education tool that helped them balance academics and athletics while offering a personalized learning experience.

Exploratory Research
I went through the full process — research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing — to make sure the design really fit their needs. This project gave me the chance to take a user-centered approach from start to finish, with accessibility, clarity, and visual impact at the core.
User Personas
I developed detailed personas to provide insights into the daily lives, challenges, and aspirations of student-athletes — exploring academic and athletic commitments to identify key pain points: time management, access to personalized learning resources, and the need for a supportive community.

Goals
1
Drive Conversion
Drive positive traction by creating an engaging and captivating brand image directed to a specific user demographic.
2
Collaborate with Brand
Collaborate with the brand's image, theme, and design choices to maintain visual consistency across all touchpoints.

Designs & Ideation
Iteration 1
I decided on a minimalistic yet asymmetrical design to enhance aesthetics, adhering to the brand's colors and typography to maintain consistency. My research involved analyzing successful sports website designs while keeping the main audience in mind — the main view was crafted to be an attention grabber, aimed at gaining traction for the growing brand.
After completing the first iteration, I shared it with the engineering team and product manager. Feedback highlighted usability and overflow issues that needed addressing.
Iteration 2 — Enhancing Usability
In the second iteration, I focused on addressing feedback. Key changes included simplifying navigation, ensuring a more intuitive user flow, and integrating more personalized content. I collaborated closely with the engineering team to ensure feasibility and alignment with technical constraints.

What I Learned
This project significantly challenged and enhanced my design skills, particularly in the context of redesigning a startup's web presence and app with a clear and direct design style. Throughout the process, I created strong collaborations with the Product Manager, worked closely with another designer, and directly engaged with the CTO who coded the final product.
This experience not only increased my ability to work effectively in a team but also demonstrated my capacity to contribute to projects of any size — from initial concept to final implementation.
◌
Designing for a constrained, time-poor user group forces every feature to justify its existence.
◌
Cross-functional collaboration — with engineering and product — is as important as the design itself.
◌
Iteration isn't a sign of failure. It's how good design actually happens.
